- Develops products design industrial requirements and specifications according to product related ISO & IEC standards and market equivalent devices.
- Designs & evaluates mechanical subsystem modules that ensure full compliance to standard requirements and marketing requirements, to achieve required performance, safety, biocompatibility, and usability parameters along with artistic and aesthetics touch.
- Develops and test product prototypes to ensure fulfilling the design requirements.
- Designs products exterior casing according to industrial product design, usability, biocompatibility and manufacturing process requirements and best practices.
- Optimizes the design of mechanical parts to be manufactured using machining processes, sheet metal, 3D printing, or plastic molding techniques.
- Supervises, evaluates the manufacturing of spare parts using machining processes, sheet metal, 3D printing, or plastic molding techniques and review the inspection process to approve the acceptance of parts.
- Collaborates with R&D engineers to create and develop system prototypes according to the agreed designs
- Works with procurement team for scouting the required spare parts and service providers to build the product supply chain and provides the required technical support and follow up for the procurement process.
- Prepares the product design for manufacturing (DFM), Design for assembly (DFA) and production Ramp-UP requirements.
- Prepares the required documentation (development process, design modifications, troubles, and assembly process) along with reports to be and presented to management.
- Applies human factor engineering, artistic, smart, and modern design considerations for product ergonomics and exterior design.
- Collaborates with R&D engineers to create and develop system prototypes according to the agreed designs.
- Prepares technical documentation and according to EMI design process to be submitted for CE and FDA certification.
- Educational Degrees: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or industrial design engineering, preferred master’s degree in same fields.
- Previous work experience: Medical devices R&D, home appliances, other electrical programmable devices R&D and automotive industry.
- Years of Experience: 5+ years
- Languages: English (fluent).
- Proven seniority and work expertise in industrial product design for medical devices, electrical home appliances or similar industries.
- Work expertise in product design usability, human factors engineering, device ergonomics concept deigns, artistic touch to design aesthetic and neat products.
- Strong background in manufacturing and prototyping techniques such as sheet metal works, machining, welding, 3D printing and mold injection techniques.
